Callie Sheets Combs, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014, at the residence of her son in Baltimore, Md.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Brownlow and Ethel Estelle Lyons Sheets.
Ms. Combs had previously lived in Baltimore until returning to Elizabethton in 1984.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include her son, James Cross, Baltimore, Md.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathey and Wayne Good, Joppa, Md.; four grandchildren, Alisa Cross, J.R. Cross, James H. Cross and Brook Clews; a great-grandson, Chanse Knight; and two sisters, Lucille Taylor and Martha Ward.
Graveside services for Ms. Combs will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, August 29, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Mark Street officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the graveside service.
