The Friends of the Library is collecting books for its annual Book Sale to benefit the Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library.
Friends book sale organizer Lilo Duncan said all genres and types of books were being accepted – except for textbooks.
“We need fiction, nonfiction, biographies, children’s books, basically any type but textbooks,” she said. “We also need paperbacks. Those are the best sellers at the sale.”
Duncan said books could be dropped off at any time during regular library hours.
The library is located at the corner of E Street and Sycamore Street.
The book sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation building at 300 West Mill St.
There is also a members-only sale on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. Interested shoppers can become members at the door of the sale.
The library will closed Saturday, Aug. 30, through Monday, Sept. 1, for Labor Day. The library will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m.
