Ricky Lynn Lewis, 61, Hampton, passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at the residence of his sister, Doris Bullock, Hampton, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Donald and Ressie Carden Lewis. He was a graduate of Hampton High School and was a retired pipe fitter. Ricky was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Justin Lynn Lewis, Hampton; his grandchildren, Mandi and Kyler Lewis; his sister, Doris Bullock; five brothers: J.D. Lewis and wife Noki, Jonesborough; Carl Lewis, Roger Lewis and wife Betty and Steve Lewis and wife Maxine, all of Hampton; and Leroy Lewis and wife Cindy, Unicoi; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends, George Harrison and Chris Hughes.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Private graveside services will be conducted at a later date. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of his son, Justin Lewis. It was his wish to be cremated.
