Rose Ruth Ingram, 87, Hampton, went home to be with her Lord, Friday, September 5, 2014, at Hillview Health Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William L. and Ida Blevins Ingram.
Mrs. Ingram was a graduate of Hampton High School and a retired employee of Beaunit Fibers. She was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ingram was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, the Rev. Haskel Ingram. She she was always by his side during his many years of ministry.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca “Becky” and Luther Bowers, Elizabethton, and Nancy and Gerry Miller, Sevierville; one granddaughter, April Miller, Toledo, Ohio; and one grandson, Mark Bowers and his wife, Amanda, Piney Flats. Three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sara and Caleb Bowers. also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bob Polk officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:50 p.m. Monday, will be David Forbes, Andy Glover, Ian Glover, Christian Glover, Gary Ludwig and Rick Hammitt. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Blevins, Sam Cress, Jim Cress, Jim Williams and pastors and former pastors of the Watauga Baptist Association. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service. The family would like to thank the staff of Hillview Health Care Center for the excellent care Mrs. Ingram received. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Ingram to the Hale Community Ministries, 1301 Arney Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Luther Bowers.
