June Shatley

Mrs. June Shatley, of Hampton, Tenn., passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Edith Markland Nave.
Mrs. Shatley was employed by the Postal Service before retirement as Postmaster of the Hampton Post Office for 32 years. She was a graduate of the Class of 1956 of Hampton High School and attended E.T.S.U.
Mrs. Shatley was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethton. Her hobbies were flower gardening and oil painting.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Shatley.
Survivors include her husband, L.B. Shatley, Hampton; a son, Brian Shatley, Hampton; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Shatley, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Brandon Shatley and wife Kristina of Wisconsin, Melea Shatley Stevenson and husband Bobby, Savannah, Ga., and Casey Shatley, Hampton; two great-grandsons, Jonah Shatley of Wisconsin and Rigston Stevenson, Savannah, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Louise Yates, Atlanta, Ga.; and an aunt, Imogene Markland, Elizabethton. Special friends, D.L. and Betty Stevens, Hampton, several cousins and nine nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Mrs. Shatley will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 22, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Wilson and Rev. Dean Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday, prior to the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Jim Presson, Ken Carden, David McMaster, Bobby Stevenson, Frank Kendall, Jerry Kendall, David Kendall, David Elliott, Jessee Elliott, Freeman Elliott, Paul Bellamy, D.L. Stevens, Brandon Shatley and Casey Shatley. The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Fifth Floor of the Johnson City Medical Center for their loving care to Mrs. Shatley.
