Reindeer Run weathers wet conditions

It was a mixture of running and learning Saturday morning as the Elizabethton High School Future Business Leaders of America held its second annual Reindeer Run at Lions Field.

With the rain not being able to make up its mind, the group of 20 runners began their 5K journey on the Tweetsie Trail around 10 a.m. The participants ranged from high school cross country runners to individuals who run for fun.

The leader of the pack was Alex “Tonto” Valdez, who easily captured first place. The race was a laid back affair for Valdez, who really enjoyed the course, even though it was wet.
