J.L. Stout, 87, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Pine Ridge Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Stout was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Cannie and Essie Woody Stout. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Richardson; brothers, Carl, Ossie and Buddy Stout; a half brother, Cecil Estep; and a grandson, Justin Stout.
Mr. Stout was a member of Holly Springs Freewill Baptist Church and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his sons, Jeff Stout and wife Debbie, and Dale Stout and wife Rose, all of Elizabethton; granddaughters, Melissa Thompson and husband Denny, Tracie Stout and Samantha Stout; grandson, Jared Arnold; great-grandson, Jacob Stout; great-granddaughter, Savannah Grindstaff; special friends, Marie Wilson and her children; and faithful and loving cousins, Paul Stout and Harold “Bud” Stout. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of J.L. Stout will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1, in the Richardson Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Campbell, Vaughn Carrier, Joe Carrier, Rondall Lowe, Kevin Stout and Ronnie Carrier. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Sunday.
