Phyllis “Meme” Bowman

Phyllis “Meme” Bowman, 62, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015, at her residence.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Sylvia Williams Street.
Phyllis attended Elizabethton High School. She was a homemaker and a Christian.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Bowman; her children, Lori Laws Livingston and husband Jeffery Livingston II, Watauga, Lisa Laws Peaks and husband Steve, Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Ronald Darrin Laws and companion, Robert Handschumacher, Elizabethton; four grandsons, Tanner and Colby Barb, Tyler Price and Tristan Causby; a granddaughter, Tiara Causby; a great-grandson, Bladen Price; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Danny Williams, Elizabethton; and her special friends whom she called “Sis,” Judy Coleman, Cassie Baker, Susan Estep and Pam Davis.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bowman will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dallas Gregg and the Rev. Terry Jones officiating. Music will be provided by Tiara Causby, granddaughter, The Street Family and a recorded song by Phyllis. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, in the Williams Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, will be Tristan Causby, Tyler Price, Leo Payne, Steve Peaks, Johnny Jarrett, Mike Hicks, Jeffery Livingston II and Danny Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Bowman and Hobart Bradshaw. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her son, Ronald Darrin Laws, 139 School House Road, Elizabethton, or the residence of her sister, Brenda Williams, 720 Beech Street, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
