Omer Carver

Omer Carver, 80, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Sycamore Shoal Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late John H. and Betty Moore Carver.
Mr. Carver was a farmer and set monuments for several years for Hitchcock Memorial. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and one sister.
Survivors include a nephew, Lester Carver, Unicoi; a niece, Mildred Morton, Unicoi; and several cousins.
The funeral service for Mr. Carver will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Jones and the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Interment will follow in the Carver-Cochran Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Larry Morton Jr., Junior Clark, Ray Smith, Steve Simerly, Jack Smith, Ned Smith and Josh Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Guinn, Byrl Clark and Albert Ellison. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Jack and Edna Smith and the staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his niece, Mildred Morton, 150 Ken Carver Road, Unicoi.
