Sam J. Lowe

Sam J. Lowe, 61, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following an extended illness. Sam was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Foy and Anna Walton Lowe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Lowe.
Mr. Lowe retired from Mood Craft Boats where he did fiberglass work. He was also a certified locksmith and enjoyed body work and being a mechanic. He was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Lowe, of the home; a daughter, Angela Lowe, Elizabethton; a step-daughter, Nikki Thomas, Johnson City; twin step-sons, Kevin and Kelvin Stover, both of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Kevin Stover Jr., Mark Stover, Dustin Stover, Summer Stover, Brandon Stover, Kyle Stover, Heather Stover and Allison Eastridge; three special great-grandchildren, Samuel Stover, Alexus Stover and Natalie Stover; a niece, Renee Gladson, who called him “Pap”; and another special niece, Michelle Dotson; four nephews, Michael, David and Timmy Lowe and Brandon Vines; a brother, Mike Lowe and wife Carmie, Elizabethton; a sister, Denise Lowe, Elizabethton; a brother-in-law, Lanny Markland; two sisters-in-law, Robin Bowers and Pebbles Blake; his special friends, Jerry and Teresa Cochran and Bill Gouge; and his little dog, “Sophie Jo.”
A memorial service for Sam will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Carter County Rescue Squad and to the doctors and staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the love and care shown to Sam and his family.
