Gary E. Brumitt, 72, of Johnson City, entered into rest, Monday, June 1, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mr. Brumitt was a native of Carter County but lived in Johnson City for the past 15 years. He was a son of the late Robert A. Brumitt Jr. and Margaret McGlashen Brumitt.
Mr. Brumitt was a retired employee of Lance Snack Foods where he served as Route Salesman. He was a Free Will Baptist.
Mr. Brumitt enjoyed NASCAR and watching westerns. The joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 52 years, Betty Brumitt; one daughter, Debbie Silva and her husband, Gary, Columbia, Tenn.; one son, Jeffrey Brumitt, Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren, Dustin and Cheyenne Silva, Columbia, Tenn.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Susan and Scott Emert, Johnson City; his very special friend, Larry Musick; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet guests and share memories from 5 p.m. until a Celebration of Life Service at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City, Tenn., with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Committal services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tenn. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
