Dennis R. Hyder, 62, of Hampton, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, at Franklin Woods Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Adrian Hyder and step-son of Fletcher Hyder, and son of Beulah Captola Grindstaff Hyder.
Dennis was retired from General Shale Brick Company in Johnson City, Tenn. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen Davies Hyder; son, Timothy Hyder; daughter, Heather Hyder; step-daughter, Kellie Craig and husband Shane; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Craig; mother, Beulah Captola Grindstaff Hyder; sister, Brenda Sears and husband Randy; seven grandchildren; nine aunts and uncles; nieces, Valerie Davis, Shelia Breadlove, Miranda Sears and Hilda Graham; nephew, Shannon Morton; and special friends, Carl Tolley, Ray Campbell, Jim Woodby, Steve Woodby, Fred Simerly and Shane Craig.
Funeral services for Dennis R. Hyder will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dexter Brumitt officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, in the Hyder Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Friends may call at his residence or the residence of his mother. Everyone is requested to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Thursday.
