Police are investigating the vandalism of a dormitory at Milligan College that left fixtures pulled from the walls and ceiling and furniture overturned.
Just before 11 p.m. on Wednesday, officers of the Elizabethton Police Department were called to the college on a report of a vandalism.
When officers arrived on campus they spoke with Milligan College Director of Residents Kate Anderson, who reported several items in the common area of Quillen Hall, an upperclassmen men’s residence hall, had been vandalized.
“I observed that several pieces of furniture were knocked over, a drinking fountain was knocked off the wall, a wireless router was pulled from the ceiling, two pictures were broken on the floor, and a light fixture was partially pulled from the ceiling,” EPD Officer Justin Pearce said.
While on scene, Pearce took photographs of the damage as evidence.
“Anderson stated that she did not know who vandalized the building but several students stated they saw a male subject going in and out of the building and ‘looked angry,’” Pearce said.
According to the police report, the students who saw the man going in and out of the residence hall described him as being a white male with short blond spiked hair, an athletic build and wearing a gray hoodie.
“Anderson advised the students told her that they did not know who the male subject was but he appeared to be a Milligan student,” Pearce said.
