JOHNSON CITY — Betty Jo Waller, 73, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Betty Jo was a member of Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved and enjoyed Sunday evening family time and cooking with her daughters. Betty Jo was known as a meticulous housekeeper and for her famous chicken and dumplings, even though she burnt the bread a few times!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brady and Juanita Roberts.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Earl Waller; daughters, Carol Joy Livingston and husband, Buzz, Sherry Lee Tipton and husband, Jackie, and Deborah Gay Grindstaff and husband, Kenneth; step-son, Alan Hunt and wife, Jessica; brothers, Toz Roberts and wife, Teresa, Bill Roberts and wife, Betty Ann, and Jackie Roberts and wife, Betty Gail; sister, Vickie Clifton and husband, Bobby; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; special aunts, Sylvia Dugger and Nola Babb; and special friend, Linda Roark.
Funeral services for Mrs. Waller will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, at Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ with Brother Donny Reagan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the service hour. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Those desiring to attend are asked to meet at Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ at 10 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ansley Roberts, Michael Roberts, Jamie Roberts, Heath Tipton, Derrick Hensley, Colby Hensley, Curtis Hunnel and Randy Babb. Honorary pallbearers will be Bud Davis, Michael Bailey, David Nunley, Jack Younce, Mark Roberts and great-grandsons, Mikiah Hensley, Caden and Nicholas Ward.
