James Grady Parlier “Jim”

James Grady Parlier “Jim” 55, of Watauga, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015.
Jim was a native of Carter County. He was a career machinist and gunsmith by trade. He was the owner/operator of Jim’s Gun Shop in Watauga.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Conley Harrison.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Parlier, Watauga; parents, Albert and Florence Harrison, Watauga; daughter, Deborah and husband Dustin Ledford, Watauga; son, Bradley Wilson, Watauga; sister, Audrey and husband John Edney, Elizabethton; brother, Keith Harrison, Watauga; and four grandsons, Dakota, Ryan, Chris Wilson and Dawson Ledford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, January 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gene Fleenor and Rev. R.L. Poole officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, will be Shane Fleenor, Rob Honeycutt, Joshua Malone, Buster Hodge, Mark McCamy and Brian McCall. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Phipps, Mike Sanford, Craig Shepard, Dr. Aubrey McElroy and George Barnes. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
