Alan Day

Alan Day, 54, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Alan was a son of the late Bill and Betty Wagner Day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece, Shannon Day; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Durbin.
Alan was born in Ashland, Ohio, but had lived in Elizabethton for the past 9 years. He retired from Automated Building Systems where built trusses. He was of the Baptist faith and liked watching NASCAR and enjoyed camping and the outdoors.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 25 years, Michelle Hobbs Day, of the home; his son, Josh Hobbs, of Johnson City; his daughter, Misty Day, of Elizabethton; his twin granddaughters, Bailee and Kailee Collins, both of Elizabethton; two sisters, Karen Brady and Jada Smith, both of Ashland, Ohio; and one brother, Randy Day, of Travelers Rest, SC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to honor the life of Mr. Alan Day will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2016 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Mike Garland, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday; or at the residence at any time. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Regional Cancer Center of Johnson City for the love and care shown to Alan and his family, during his illness.
