Tuesday was the opening night for the Great James H. Drew Exposition carnival being held at Elizabethton High School.
The carnival will run through Sunday and features a slew of rides and attractions for all ages.
Even though some rain is in the forecast this week, Drew Exposition’s unit manager Mike Neighbors said that his team is not
worried at all.
“The weather man can’t tell you anything,” Neighbors said with a laugh. “The weather is constantly changing, and we just have to do what we do.”
The carnival will feature a few unlimited ride nights. Tonight and Thursday the park will open at 5 p.m. and patrons will be able to pay $20 for unlimited rides. Saturday, gates will open at 2 p.m., and from 2-5 p.m. unlimited rides will be $25, but will not be available after 5 p.m. On Sunday, the carnival will open at 1 p.m. and unlimited rides will be available all day for $20.
Elizabethton is the 11th stop for the carnival, which travels throughout a few states during the season. Last year, the carnival was not held in Elizabethton due to construction on the Citizens Bank Stadium.
