The Elizabethton Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery of a city pharmacy and is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect.
On Saturday around 4:30 p.m., officers of the EPD were called to the CVS Pharmacy, located at 1161 Highway 19E, Elizabethton, on a report of an attempted robbery.
Store employees reported a female subject entered the business and proceeded to the pharmacy counter. “She spoke to employees and demanded narcotics,” EPD Capt. Joy Shoun said. “She then passed a hand-written note confirming that she was attempting to complete a robbery and made threats if they did not comply with her demands for narcotics.”
Shoun said the employees did not give the woman any medication and the woman then exited the store.
She was observed leaving the store by several employees and left the parking lot, driving a gold or tan colored, four door sedan, Shoun said. The suspect is described as a white female, in her 30s, approximately 5’7” tall, medium build with noticeably decaying teeth. She was said to have longer brown hair which was tucked inside a baseball style hat and was wearing medical style scrubs, with the top being multi-colored or patterned, and the pants being solid colored.
Investigators were able to obtain some pictures of the woman from the store’s video surveillance system.
