Donald F. Wilcox, 77, of Goochland County, Va. formerly of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 1, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Helen Walsh Wilcox.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Brenda K. Wilcox; six children, Donna Carroll (Richard), Fred Wilcox (Joanne), Susan Wilcox, Neal Wilcox (Ruth), Brad Wilcox and Jason Wilcox (Kim); 13 grandchildren, Lance, Stephanie, Sarah, C.D., Brendan, Aja, Dylan, Emma, Megan, Rilee, Kristin, Laura and Michael; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Don was the founder of Eastern Industries, Inc., vice-president of Natkin & Company, co-owner of Wilcox Store in Hadensville, Va., and director of Capitol Construction for the Virginia Department of Corrections.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street. On Sunday, August 7, the family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 212 N. Main Street, Elizabethton, Tenn. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 7, at Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton.
