Elizabethton volleyball tops Sullivan North

The Lady Cyclones picked up their second-straight conference win Tuesday night as they traveled over to Sullivan North, where they topped the Lady Raiders 3-2 (25-8, 21-25, 25-10, 20-25, 15-12).
“It was a crazy match,” said Elizabethton head coach Leslee Bradley. “We had way too many unforced errors in the two games that we loss.
“We have to keep our energy high and play cleaner volleyball,” Bradley added.
The Lady Cyclones had big stats on both offense and defense Tuesday night. Senior Madyson Smith had seven aces, while senior Chloe Hambrick recorded six. Madyson Smith, freshman Morgan Smith, and senior Sarah Slagle each had 12 kills on the night. Madyson Smith also closed things out with 25 assists, while Morgan Smith had 12. Defensively, Mary Beth Biggs was on fire as she recorded 46 digs on the night. She was backed up by Sydney Goodsell, who had 24 digs, and Slagle, who recorded 20 digs.
The Lady Cyclones will face their toughest conference match so far this Thursday as they host the Sullivan South Lady Rebels to John Treadway Gym.
