Timothy Eugene England, a federal detainee who was being held in Washington County Jail, escaped Tuesday morning, Aug. 30.
Authorities are actively searching for England and investigating how he escaped from the facility.
England, 37, was in federal custody awaiting trial of a bank robbery and violating his federal supervised release.
England is a white male, who stands approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.
He was last seen wearing his burgundy prisoner suit. England is known to have local ties throughout East Tennessee, specifically upper East Tennessee and Blount County.
England has a history of violence and should be considered dangerous. If the public sees or encounters him, do not approach and call 911 immediately.
“We are all working together with the Washington County’s Sheriff Office and the FBI, as well as other local agencies to make the apprehension of this fugitive a top priority,” said Jimmy Fowler, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
The Marshals also announced in a joint-press conference with the Washington County’s Sheriff Office that a $5,000 reward will also be provided for any assistance in capturing England.
