If you are one of those individuals who has trouble deciding where to go eat for dinner, the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce has just the event for you.
The 2016 Taste of Carter County is just around the corner, but if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet you better hurry before they are all sold out.
“We do still have a couple left,” said Elizabeth White with the Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s event is being sponsored by Security Federal Bank and will take place on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Elizabethton High School’s Citizens Bank Stadium. This will mark the second year the event has been held at the stadium.
Each year, the Taste of Carter County brings together local restaurants as a way to not only showcase their delicious dishes but also as a way to help raise funds for an organization in the community. This year, proceeds from the event will go to the Betsy Band Boosters and the Elizabethton High School Athletic Parent Organization, both of which support extracurricular programs at EHS.
Some tickets to the event are still available, and White said tickets can be purchased in a number of different ways.
“They can get their tickets here at the Chamber of Commerce or they can pay online at our website through PayPal,” White said. “Tickets are also available at Security Federal Bank or through the Elizabethton High School APO or Band Boosters.”
Tickets to attend the event are $20.
With the purchase of a ticket, attendees can meander through the stadium and sample food from all the participating restaurants.
So far, the following local restaurants have signed up to take part in the event: Beef O’Brady’s, Bojangles, Chick-fil-A, City Market, Covered Bridge Cafe, Fatz Cafe, Ingles, Lakeo, Ole Barn Restaurant, Pizza Hut, Primo’s, Shirley’s, The Southern Restaurant, Sugar Love Bakery and Cafe, Tweetsie Treats, and Zaxby’s.
White said there are still openings for restaurants to sign up to participate.
