Elizabeth Swatzell Waters

Elizabeth Swatzell Waters, 78, of Greeneville and Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016, in Elizabethton.
She was the daughter of the late Elmer Heck and Nellie Reynolds and was preceded in death by her first husband, Junior Swatzell, and one daughter, Sandra Pleasant.
Mrs. Waters retired as a license practical nurse II from Laughlin Memorial Hospital after 37 years of service. She was a member of Powder Branch Baptist Church in Elizabethton. She taught piano lessons for many years and enjoyed serving the Lord through her music.
Mrs. Waters was an avid gardener.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Waters Jr. of Elizabethton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Susan Fillers of Mohawk, and Sharon and Stanley Schlegel of Greeneville; a step-daughter, Donna Waters; two step-sons, Shane Waters and his wife, Audra, and Julius Waters and his wife, Angie, all of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Anthony Swatzell, Bryan Nelson, Tonya Nelson, Christopher Fillers and wife, Renee, Risha Fillers and Libby Schlegel; 10 great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Connie Reynolds of Washington County; several nieces and nephews; and her neighbors in the Rolling Hills Addition.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home, Greeneville. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Pastor Brad Higgins and Pastor Gene Cornett will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Waters, Michael Waters, Phillip Waters, Jacob Waters, Jordy Harmon, Damon Drinnon and David Kenner.
