The Carter County/Elizabethton Retired Teachers will meet at 2 p.m. at Memorial Presbyterian Church. Devotions will be by Michael Klaus with music provided by John and Mary Smith. Linda Lahr will present the program. All retired teachers are welcome.
The Johnson City United Auto Workers Retirees will hold their monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the Pipefitters Union Hall, 655 Watauga Road, Watauga. Tour begins at 7:30 p.m. at Sugar Love Bakery & Cafe inside the historic Bonnie Kate Theater and the event lasts about 90 minutes. Tickets are $12 for adults; $11 for seniors age 60 and older; $10 for veterans and children age 17 and under. Groups of 10 or more in a single party can take part for $10 per person. The Elizabethton Senior Dance Club will hold a dance at the Elizabethton Elks Lodge, No. 1847, 1000 N. Sycamore St., from 7 to 10 p.m. The Rambling Rose Band will provide music. Those attending the dances are asked to bring finger foods to share. There is a $6 door charge. The club holds dances the second and fourth Friday nights of each month. All seniors are welcome.

A Country Breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m at Fairview United Methodist Church. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy good food and great fellowship. The breakfasts, which are held every third Saturday of each month, consist of bacon, fresh ground sausage, eggs, pancakes, gravy and biscuits, and more. Cost is by donation. The church is located at 878 Highway 81N, about five miles from downtown Jonesborough.

Lessons are free of charge, just call and let us know you are coming.

Alzheimers Tennessee Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon at Sycamore Springs Senior Living Center at 1504 W. Elk Ave. for caregivers of friends or relatives suffering from Alzheimers or another form of dementia. Attending the support group can help people to feel less isolated and to make connections with others facing similar challenges. Hampton Christian Church will hold its Annual Fall Festival from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be homemade cakes, pies, bread and candies, canned goods, and fall and Christmas crafts. Food items available include hot dogs, chips, nachos and cheese, and drinks. Bring your children and join everyone for fun and games. Scary Stories at Fort Watauga —Strange things happen on All Hallows Eve, especially at an old fort by the river. Bring the family and join us for tales of woe and terror, the weird and the macabre, with a touch of wit thrown in for good measure. Don’t be afraid, Fort Watauga at Sycamore Shoals State Park isn’t haunted… we think. Event begins at 7:30 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring camp chairs or blankets to sit on.
