At this point, the Unaka Rangers will not be making the trip to Greenback this Friday, said Rangers head coach Steven McKinney.
McKinney said Monday afternoon that as far as he knows the No. 4 seeded Rangers will be forfeiting their first round playoff game to the Region 2-1A No. 1 seed Greenback.
McKinney cited low numbers due injuries and some players quitting as the main reason for the forfeiture.
“We had 20 players, and we had several kids quit after Friday night’s game,” he said referencing the Ranger’s 71-0 loss to Midway last week. “So we are down to like six or seven players.”
The Rangers went 1-9 overall and 1-3 in Region 1-1A play this season.
