Jimmy “Jim” H. Lewis

Jimmy “Jim” H. Lewis, born in Dunlap, Tenn., on September 5, 1935, at age 81, passed away at his home in Largo, Fla., on November 15, 2016.
He is survived by his stepson, Terry Turner; daughter, Denise Huffine (Brian); his son, Randy Lewis (Darlene); nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Jewell Johnson Lewis; father, Dewey George Lewis; mother, Lilly Kerley Lewis; and his brother, William “Bill” Hoyt Lewis, all of Dunlap, Tenn. He was also preceded in death by his latter wife, Sondra Cooke Lewis, originally of Elizabethton, Tenn.
He grew up in Dunlap, Tenn., graduating from Sequatchie County High School, served as a young man in the U.S. Army and lived most of his adult life in the Elizabethton, Tenn. area, then moving to Florida in his elder years. By occupation, he was an entrepreneur. He wanted his friends to remember the good times they had with him. The most often heard words used to describe him are that “he had a big heart,” loved to help people. God bless all who knew him.
