Olive Gertrude Shaffer Case

Olive Gertrude Shaffer Case, 80, of Bluff City, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Franklin Woods Hospital.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Earl and Virgie Nave Shaffer.
Mrs. Case was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was retired form Levi Strauss. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Bluff City.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard Earl Case, May 13, 2010, two sisters, Bertha Lawson and Ruby Vance, and four brothers, Phillip Dean Shaffer Sr., Henry, Earl and Eston Shaffer.
Survivors include two sons whom she never had, John Mark Shaffer Sr. and wife Debbie, and Phillip Dean Shaffer Jr., both of Elizabethton; one sister, Delores Heaton of Johnson City, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Olive Gertrude Shaffer Case will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Mr. Phillip Dean Shaffer Jr. officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
