Mary Lee Garland

Mary Lee Garland, 74, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Henry and Eva Perry Nelson and was born in Bluff City, Tenn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Garland Jr.; a daughter, Carol Ann Dean; a granddaughter, Makayla Garland; a grandson, McKinley Garland; and three brothers.
Mrs. Garland was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memory include four sons, Tim Garland and his wife, Debbie, Elizabethton, Steve Garland and his wife, Jennifer, Kingsport, Billy Harding and Rick Harding, both of the Stoney Creek Community; three special grandsons, Joshua Garland, Wesley Garland and Lucas Garland; several other grandchildren; and three sisters, Lois Scalf, Frances Charlton and Lucy Sims. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Debbie Garland, 183 Rosewood Circle, Elizabethton, at any time. The graveside service for Mrs. Garland will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, in the Whaleytown Cemetery with Mr. David Nelson, minister, officiating. Active pallbearers will be “Jake” Rick Harding, Tim Garland, Billy Harding, Randy Sims, Keith Scalf and Alan Scalf. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
