The Carter County Soil Conservation District will host their annual Tree Day on Saturday, April 8.
The Tree Day will be located on the parking lot of the Carter County Farm Bureau office, located at 301 N. Lynn Ave., Elizabethton. The Tree Day will start at 9 a.m. and continue until all the seedlings have been sold.
The Carter County Soil Conservation District has purchased several varieties of seedlings which will be available for purchase. The purchase will be by donation to the Carter County Soil Conservation District.
We hope each individual who selects a seedling will only take a very small number which will permit more individuals to have a chance to get a variety they want. We hope these individuals will make a reasonable donation to the Carter County Soil Conservation District.
The seedlings will include: Kentucky Coffee Tree, Chinese Kousa Dogwood, Purple Smokebush, Chinese Witch Hazel, Native American Plum, American Persimmon, Japanese Maple, Carolina Silverbell, and European Bird Cherry/May Day Tree.
