Robert Paul Bailey

Robert Paul Bailey, 77, of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Maynard and Ailene Clark Bailey.
Paul was a 1956 graduate of Hampton High School. He served in the United States Army.
Paul was retired from Summers-Taylor as a Surveyor. He was an avid UT Vols fan.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Myra Davidson Bailey; three children, LeeAnn Carr and husband Mark, and Gary Bailey and wife Marci, all of Hampton, and Robin Jaynes and husband Mat, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Tori Hatley, Benjamin Deloach, Dustin Jaynes, Austin Jaynes and Marina Bailey; three great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Hatley, Adria Hatley and Nalei Deloach; a brother, Arlen Bailey, Hampton; a sister, Sherry Perry, Johnson City; and one aunt, Betty Lou Chambers, Elizabethton.
Private graveside services for Robert Paul Bailey will be conducted Friday in the Bailey Family Cemetery with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be sons and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Bass, Greg Hartley, Gary Shingleton and his pals from the Hampton Bait Shop. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center for the care he received during his stay there. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.
