Charles H. Schuettler, 96, of New Bern, N.C., passed away at CarolinaEast Medical Center, Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Charles was born in Elberfeld, Germany and came to the United States when he was five years old.
Charles was a Tech Sales Rep and Sales Manager for Scholler, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pa., for 36 years at the time of his retirement. He was a graduate of the Citadel and Philadelphia College of Textiles & Science where he received his BS. He was a Captain, Infantry, USAR Intelligence in WWII, then retired with an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of Masons & Shrines, BPOE Elks, The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania, AATCC, TROA, and The Citadel Alumni Lifetime Member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, his sister and three wives, Cleo, Mary and Ilse Schuettler.
He is survived by his step-children, Kenny Stephens and wife Tami, Charles Stephens and wife Ruby, Robin Teagle, Brenda Sloan and George H. Murray II and wife Diana; step-grandchildren, Kenny, J. Motley, Tyler Foster, Charles, Chip, Chelse, Cody, Robin, Tracy, T.J. and George H. Murray III and wife Cristal; two great-granddaughters, Grace and Paytlyn Murray, and Emily Fletcher of Butler, Tenn., Chris Schuettler of Elizabethton, Tenn., and Henry and Randy Schuettler of Knoxville, Tenn.
The family will hold a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. Inurnment will follow the service at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
