Rebecca Ann Rogers Buckles

Rebecca Ann Rogers Buckles, 80, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Hodge Rogers.
Rebecca was a retired cook from Hunter Elementary School after 22 years of service. She was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Melvin W. Buckles, who died October 8, 2004, and by six sisters and one brother.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Scott and Heather Buckles; one granddaughter, Celeste Buckles; three sisters, Eula Lee Pierce, Wanda Townsend and Sarah Heighway; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Rebecca Ann Rogers Buckles will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Monday, August 28, in the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Hinshaw and the Rev. Jamie Ferguson officiating. Music will be provided by Sue Bowers. The graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Holder, Nick Holder, Mike Williams, Jeff Pierce, Josh Rasnick, Tyler McMullins, Rick McMullins and Keith Glover. Honorary pallbearers will be Ford Townsend and Mike Ensor. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Life Care Center, her church family and her family and friends for the prayers and support they have given her during her illness. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her son.
