Carroll F. Mick, 1st Sgt. Retired U.S. Army, 78, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a brief illness.
A native of Weston, W.Va., he was a son of the late Rex and Lenora Finster Mick and his step-mother, Irene.
Mr. Mick had lived in Tennessee since 1979. He served 22-1/2 years in the United States Army. He served in Germany, Korea, Stateside and was a Vietnam Veteran. He also retired from the Postal Service.
He was a Master Mason, a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238, Jericho Shrine Temple, Scottish rite, The York Rite and Sycamore Chapter #163 Order of Eastern Star.
He loved his family, and was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Bullion; a brother, Robert Mick; and a grandson, Timothy Tisdale.
Survivors include his wife, whom he shared his life with for 55 years, Trudy Mick; his children, Nancy Tisdale and Charles Mick (Anita); his grandchildren, Matt Tisdale (Heather), Travis Pasquale (Lacy) and Ryan Mick (Alicia); his step-grandchildren, Tonya Dalton (Matthew) and Adam Riner; his great-grandchildren, Kanyon Tisdale, MJ Allen Tisdale and Kelsey Pasquale; his step-great-grandson, Dru Dalton; his brothers, Larry Mick (Patricia), Bill Mick (Jane), Randy Mick (Pat), Danny Mick (Sandra), Mike Mick (Sharon) and Donnie Mick; a sister-in-law, Barbara Mick; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Carroll F. Mick will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, September 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Estil Williams officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 10:45 a.m. Monday, September 18, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. A Masonic memorial service will follow the funeral service Friday night conducted by Dashiell Lodge #238. Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4255. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday to go to the cemetery.
