Mrs. Mozelle Edgar, 99, Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 15, 2017, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She would have been one hundred years old on October 21, 2017.
A native of Roswell, N.M., she moved to Elizabethton in 1945. She was the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Lavina Eva Hipp McFarland
Mrs. Edgar was a charter member of Memorial Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton where she retired as director of Memorial Presbyterian Preschool. She also volunteered for many benevolent ministries.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald John Edgar; her oldest son, Ralph Edgar; brothers, Bill McFarland, J.D. McFarland and David McFarland; and sisters, Elma Baker and Lena Mae Hobbs.
Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Ronnie Edgar and wife Bobbi and Dan Edgar and wife Angela, all of Athens, Ga., and Robbie Edgar and wife Karen, Johnson City, Tenn.; a daughter-in-law, Jenny Edgar, Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Kim, Sarah, Mark, Jeremy, Rebekah and Mary Katherine; and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Mozelle Edgar will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 16, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Calvin Jett officiating. Those attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Saturday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 East F Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or to the favorite charity of their choice.
