Several citizens speaking out about a change to the 2017 Personnel Rules and Regulations handbook will be one of the topics of discussion during Thursday’s City Council meeting.

Officials will meet at 6 p.m. inside Council Chambers to go over a handful of topics, including looking at amending the handbook to reinstate Good Friday as a city holiday and reduce the number of employee personal days to one.

After a daunting task by the Personnel Advisory Board to make changes to the City of Elizabethton’s employee handbook, board members were praised during last month’s meeting, but citizens took to the floor to address the change of Good Friday.

While the other portions of the handbook were OK’ed, the amendment will be look at Thursday.
