Ed Woods, 81, passed away Tuesday morning, October 10, 2017, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center in Roan Mountain. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Woods, and one son, Charles “Chucky” Woods. He was the son of the late Beatrice Heaton of Elk Park, N.C., and Wally Crowe of Washington State.
Survivors include one sister, Carolyn Buchanan of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Roger Woods, Hampton, Arnold Woods, Bloomington, Ill., and Scottie Woods, Roan Mountain. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tiffany Bright, Nicholas Woods, Joshua Woods, Jonah Woods and Jacob Barnett.
The Woods family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Stacy Hall, 871 N. Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909.
