This season, the Jr. Cyclones will be under new management.
Elizabethton’s Mike Wilson will be taking over the reigns, and he said that he is excited about what the team has to offer this season.
“We have a really good bunch this season,” said Wilson.
“I’m not going to single one out,” added Wilson. “We have a lot of kids who can really play. Of course, we have a tough schedule with Liberty Bell and Greeneville. It is a tough, tough league. But we have some very talented players.”
The Jr. Cyclones’, which are made up of 11 eight-graders and three seventh-graders, biggest threat will be their ability to move up and down the court, said Wilson.
“I think speed and quickness,” said Wilson. “We are fast, quick and we can shoot well.”
Inside the Jr. Cyclones will see play from Nicholas Wilson, Dalton Mitchell, Caleb Franklin, and Trenton Taylor.
Wilson said that at guard there would be plenty of players to rotate into the action.
“We have got four or five guys that are really good,” said Wilson. “I don’t think I have seen T.A. Dugger have as good of guards as we do this year.”
The Jr. Cyclones will open up the season with a game at Robinson on Nov. 2. Before traveling to Greeneville on Nov. 7. Their first home game will be on Nov. 9 against Sevier.
