Willow Springs
Willow Springs Baptist Church will host Trunk or Treat Tuesday, Oct. 31, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The church is located at 544 Willow Springs Road.

Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will host its annual Harvest Festival and Trunk or Treat Saturday from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
There will be inflatables, a trunk or treat, cake walk and more.
In the event of rain, the event will be held indoors.

Redeemer Lutheran
Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St., will celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Beginning of the Protestant Reformation at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday.
Deacon Timothy Carter will be in charge of the service.
Also, Trunk or Treat will be held at the church Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Everyone is invited.
Browns Chapel
A Lay Council Event will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Browns Chapel AME Zion Church, 298 Church St.
The guest speaker will be the Rev. Leann Crandall and there will also be dance selections by PEP.
“The mission of the Connectional Lay Council of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is to prepare and equip laity for life discipleship in the Kingdom of God by maintaining effective ministries that evangelize, encourage and edify the laity,” said the Rev. Dr. Jeannette Clark, in explaining the reason for the lay council event.
Dr. Clark is pastor at Brown’s Chapel.

First Christian
First Christian Church, Elizabethton, will host its annual Trunk or Treat event Saturday evening in the parking lot behind the church. This is a community event and everyone is invited.
Sunday services include morning worship at 9:45 a.m. with Minister Michael Klaus preaching. Alexis Bier will have the scripture reading and the communion meditation will be given by Chris McCloud. Special music will be presented by John Smith.
Bible School classes begin at 11 a.m.
Sunday evening, the congregation will gather with other local Christian churches for the Carter County Christian Church Singspiration at the Lower Shell Creek Christian Church in Roan Mountain. The service will begin at 6 p.m., and there will be no services at First Christian.
John Smith will lead the Tuesday morning prayer service at 10 a.m.
Wednesday evening’s prayer service and Bible study will begin at 6 p.m. Minister Klaus will be teaching from the Bible book of Galatians. There will be classes of all ages.

Upper Gap Creek
Gospel Grass, a bluegrass Christian group, will sing Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church.
A love offering will be received. Also, lunch will be served in the fellowship hall at the conclusion of the morning service.
There will be no evening service.
The church is located at 1380 Dry Creek Road. The Rev. Dale Blevins is pastor.

King Springs
King Springs Baptist Church will host the Believers in a benefit singing for R.J. Gardner Sunday, Nov. 5, at 10 a.m.
The church is located at 1708 Miami Drive, Johnson City. The pastor is the Rev. Jerry Cornett.

First Free Will
Trunk or Treat will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church Sunday evening following the worship service at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the parking lot on Cottage Avenue and First Street.

Beck Mountain
The Brotherhood Quartet will sing at Beck Mountain Baptist Church Sunday at 6 p.m. in a benefit for the Isaiah 117 House.
The special guest speaker for the event will be Rhonda Paulson, who is heading up the non-profit public benefit group organized to develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of children, specifically from the time of removal until the time of foster placement, served by the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (“DCS-”) in Carter, Johnson and Unicoi counties of East Tennessee. Concerns may include, but are not limited to: food, shelter, clothing, and personal hygiene. The Project will also assist in other projects to address the needs of children served by DCS in Carter, Johnson and Unicoi counties, as those needs are identified by DCS.
A love offering will be received for the Isaiah 117 House.

Unity Fellowship
Unity Fellowship Church will host a benefit singing for Kay Freeman Saturday at 6 p.m.
Kay has been in and out of the hospital several times in the last few months.
Featured singers will include Jacob and Carmen Phillips, Brianna Fagan, and others.

Area Singspiration
The Area Singspiration, sponsored by the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship, will be held at the Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, Roan Mountain, Sunday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. The theme of the service is “He’s All I Need.” Featured will be congregational singing and special vocal music. First Church of the Nazarene
Revival continues at the First Church of the Nazarene, 200 W. I St.
Services tonight and Saturday will be at 7 p.m. and will feature Nathan Parish as guest speaker.
Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service. Sunday School begins at 9:45 a.m.
Special singing will be presented at the homecoming service by JD and Dean’s Barbershop Quartet. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“It’s All About Jesus” is the sermon theme for morning worship Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City. Worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services. Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Happy Valley Baptist Church will have a yard sale and bake sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch items will also be sold.
All proceeds will go toward the church building fund to provide for a new roof for the church.
Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will have its annual Fall for Jesus Festival Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme of the festival is “Under Construction: God’s Blueprint For Me.”
The festival will feature food, games, prizes, inflatables, activities for children, and much more.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have their bi-monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.
Proceeds will go to the church building project.

Grace Baptist
Trunk or Treat will be held at Grace Baptist Church Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
The event will feature free food, free candy, decorated trunks, free games, and free inflatables.

First United Methodist
“Our Glorious Dwelling Place” will be the theme of Sunday’s sermon at morning worship at First United Methodist Church. The worship service begins at 9:55 a.m.
Sunday School is at 11:20 a.m.
The Sunday evening Bible study will be at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall as will the Wednesday evening Life Lessons.
The 4:12 Student Ministries Junior High Group will meet Sunday from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. and the Senior High group from 6 to 7:45 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Hut.

Youth Sunday will be celebrated Oct. 29 at Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church.
The youth choir will sing at the 11 a.m. service. They will assume all the teaching positions.

The church is located on Highway 91 just above Unaka High School.

Watauga Point U-M
Trunk or Treat will be held Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Watauga Point United Methodist Church, 409 Gap Creek Road.
In addition to treats and candy, there will be free hotdogs.
