Frankie Johnson Woodby, 70, of 147 Mill Pond Road, Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, at her home. She was the daughter of Texie Winters Johnson, of Roan Mountain, and the late Wilt Johnson, and was born in Roan Mountain. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dana Cecil Woodby; a son, Timmy Woodby; and a niece, Sherry Babb.
In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Melissa Doyle (Matthew), of Unicoi, and Terisa Simerly, of Jonesborough; three sons, Michael Woodby, Dusty Woodby and Wesley Woodby, all of Elizabethton; two adopted sons, Thomas Bowling, of Elizabethton, and Brandon Bowling (Jodi), of Fall Branch; four grandchildren, Ashly Jones, Andrew Jones, Timothy Horton and Elizabeth Horton; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Johnson, of Elizabethton, and Junior Johnson, of Hampton; and three sisters, Margaret Whitehead (Arnold), of Roan Mountain, Grace Wagner, of Hampton, and Robin McKinney, of Roan Mountain. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service for Mrs. Frankie Johnson Woodby will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, in the Johnson Family Cemetery on Mill Pond Road with Pastor Charles McKinney officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends at the home at any time.
