Lynn Valley
Lynn Valley Baptist Church is celebrating the Christmas season with several musical programs. The first will be a cantata “Come Let Us Adore,” which will be presented by the Celebration Choir Sunday and Sunday at 6 p.m.
The Wee Praise Choir, Junior Praise Choir, and the Youth will present their Christmas musicals Sunday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and celebrate the Christmas season with the congregation at Lynn Valley Baptist.
The Rev. Dennis Wilson is pastor and Larry Adams is music director.
New Liberty
New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church will continue its month-long celebration of Christ’s birth Sunday morning with special Christmas music selections by Kennedy Morelock, Joy Shoun, and Laura Coleman. The service will begin at 11 a.m.
At the evening worship service at 6 p.m. the New Liberty Quartet will be featured.
The church is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
The Rev. Ray Colbaugh, pastor, invites everyone to come and enjoy the songs of the Christmas season as they are presented at New Liberty Free Will Baptist.
First Christian
The choir will present their Christmas cantata at morning worship Sunday at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. The service begins at 9:45 a.m.
The communion meditation will be given by Chad Perry, and scripture will be read by Tim Broyles. Frank Shepard will present special music.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
Minister Michael Klaus will speak at the evening service at 6 p.m.
The Tuesday morning prayer service will be at 10 a.m. John Smith, minister, leading the service.
Wednesday at 6 p.m., church members will meet in the fellowship hall to prepare gift baskets for nursing home residents as they sing carols and share refreshments.
Circles will meet Thursday with the Sunrise Circle meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the home of Anne McKinney; the Volunteer at 2 p.m. at the church; and the Ann Jeff at 6:30 p.m. at the church.

Maranatha Tabernacle
Maranatha Tabernacle, Unicoi, will present its Christmas Opry Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. both evening.
The church is located off Buckeye Road in Unicoi.

Siam Baptist
The Children’s Choir of Siam Baptist Church will present the musical “Star of Wonder” Sunday at 6 p.m. Among the stars of the musical are Superstar, Shooting Star, Lucky Star, Falling Star, Rock Star, North Star, Shining Star, and a constellation full of stars. The musical is their story as they anxiously watch the biggest announcement in history unfold – the birth of Jesus.
Sunday, Dec. 17, the adult choir will present the cantata “Come Let Us Adore” at the 11 a.m. worship hour. The cantata is filled with songs that draw the heart closer to the true hope and joy of the season.

Redeemer Lutheran
The Second Sunday of Advent will be observed Sunday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St.
Worship will be at 10:30 a.m. and the message theme is “Prepare Ye The Way of the Lord.” Bible study is at 9 a.m.
The Wednesday service is at 7 p.m. and the message theme is “Jesus Is Coming, What Do You Do While You Wait?”
Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, Gap Creek Road, will present a Children’s Christmas Program Sunday at the 6 p.m. worship service.

Willow Springs
The adult choir of Willow Springs Baptist Church will present the cantata “O Night Divine” Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service. The choir is directed by Bobby Smith.

The Sunday morning worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will begin at 11 a.m. The pastor, Dr. Brian Wyatt will have the message.
An Education Hour is at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group, Thursday at 10 a.m. The group this week will discuss “The First Christmas: What the Gospels Really Teach About Jesus’ Birth” by Marcus Borg and Dominic Crossan.
Yoga is Friday at 10 a.m.

Pleasant Beach
The children in grades second through sixth at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church will present their Christmas play Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service.
Sunday at 6 p.m. the teens will present the play “Cricket County Front porch Christmas.”

West Side Christian
The Adult Choir of West Side Christian Church will present the musical “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” Sunday at the evening worship service.
The service begins at 6 p.m., and the choir is directed by Debbie Hodges.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have its monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

An outdoor Christmas drama will be held Dec. 15 and 16 at Elk River Baptist Church, Highway 321, Butler. The drama will be at 7 p.m. both nights.
There will be fellowship and finger foods following the drama Dec. 16.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“Here Is Your God” is the sermon theme for Sunday morning worship at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City. The sermon text is Isa. 40: 1-11.
Morning worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
Advent Vespers will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The sermon theme is “Gathered Light,” based on Romans 13: 4-7.

Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will present the musical, “O Little Town of Bethlehem” by Russell Mauldin on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 10:45 a.m. and again at 4 p.m.
The musical, a blend of both old and new songs, features solos by Cyndie Brumit, Ray Don Markland and Marie Parlier. A 25-voice choir will fill the air with the glorious sounds of Christmas accented with both lighting and video.

Valley Forge House of Prayer
Valley Forge House of Prayer will host a holiday homecoming dinner Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m.
All members, former members and pastors, and friends of the congregation are invited to attend.

Hopwood Christian
Hopwood Christian Church will have a Christmas Bazaar Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This year the Bazaar will be held in the church’s newly renovated fellowship hall, plus a large show of multi-cultural nativity scenes from around the world will be displayed in the church’s newly added entrance hall.
The bazaar is a combined craft sale, bake sale, and hot homemade soups and bread, which will be available all day. The show of the nativity scene displays can be viewed at no cost.
All donations of any amount are welcomed. All proceeds from the bazaar and the nativity scenes go towards paying for the church’s new building addition.
The church is located on the Milligan College campus. When entering the campus, cross the bridge and make an immediate right.
Grace Baptist
“Sing Joy To the World,” a Christmas cantata will be presented at Grace Baptist Church by the adult choir Sunday.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m.
