CCCMF Meeting
The Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. at Borderview Christian Church.
Charles Fitzsimmons will present a program titled “Journey to Bethlehem.” Following the worship and preaching service, there will be a time of fellowship.

Valley Forge FWB
The Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church Praise Choir will present “Journey to the Manger,” a celebration of drama, music and song Sunday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. and again at 6 p.m.
The public is invited to attend and take this journey with the choir. The destination will lead to the manger with candlelight worship and praise.

First Free Will Baptist
The children of First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton, will present a Christmas program Sunday evening at the 6 p.m. worship service.
Sunday, Dec. 24, the choir under the direction of Grady Holder will present a Christmas cantata at the 11 a.m. worship service. There will be no evening service Dec. 24.
The pastor, the Rev. Nathan Jennings, invites the public to attend.

East Side Christian
The Ladies Outreach Ministry of East Side Christian Church will have a baked goods and crafts sale Saturday, Dec. 16, at the church from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church fellowship building.
All proceeds from the sale will go to help the needy in the community.
East Side Christian is located at 1400 Siam Road.

Poplar Grove
The Poplar Grove Baptist Church Choir will present the Christmas cantata “The Miracle of Christmas” at the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday, Dec. 17.
Everyone is invited to attend.
The church is located on Highway 91 at Stoney Creek. The Rev. Eric Wright is pastor.

Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will present “Christmas at the Gap Creek Opry” Saturday, Dec. 16, and Sunday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m.
“After a six-year absence we are once again presenting this holiday favorite that is sure to get everyone in the Christmas spirit,” said the pastor, Dr. D. Alan King.
A nursery will be provided. Everyone is invited.

First Christian
The Starlighters, Beginners and KFC will do a special presentation following morning worship Sunday at First Christian Church, Elizabethton.
The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will have a message by the minister, Michael Klaus. The communion meditation will be given by Orris Densford. Scripture will be by Jonathan Baker and special music will be presented by the Men’s Quartet.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
At 6 p.m. Sunday, the children’s department will present a Christmas program directed by Rachel Dunlap.
The Tuesday morning prayer group led by John Smith will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary.
At 7 p.m. the men will attend the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship at Borderview Christian Church.
Wednesday evening services will be held at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Some will deliver gift baskets to the nursing home while others will stay for a movie and popcorn for a fun family evening.
The church offices will close at 5 p.m. and reopen Thursday, Dec. 28, at 9 a.m.

Maranatha Tabernacle
Maranatha Tabernacle of Unicoi will present its annual Maranatha Christmas Opry Sunday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m.

Lynn Valley
The Wee Praise Choir, Junior Praise Choir and the youth of Lynn Valley Baptist Church will present a program of Christmas music Sunday at the 6 p.m. worship service.
The public is invited to attend and celebrate the Christmas season with the congregation at Lynn Valley Baptist.
The Rev. Dennis Wilson is pastor and Larry Adams is music director.

Siam Baptist
The Adult Choir of Siam Baptist Church will present the cantata “Come Let Us Adore Him” at the 11 a.m. worship hour Sunday.
The cantata is filled with songs that draw the heart closer to the true hope and joy of the season.

Elk River Baptist
An outdoor Christmas drama will be held this evening and Saturday at Elk River Baptist Church, Highway 321, Butler. The drama will begin at 7 p.m. both nights.
There will be fellowship and finger foods following the drama Dec. 16.

Cove Creek
The Cove Creek Church, Roan Mountain, will present a Christmas cantata Sunday at the 6 p.m. service.

Bethlehem Lutheran
“Preach the Good News” is the sermon theme for morning worship Sunday at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City. The scripture text is Isa. 61.
Morning worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
Advent Vespers will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. The service theme will be “The Light,” based on Rom. 1: 1-7.

Sims Hill
Christmas events at Sims Hill Christian Church include Christmas songs by the children Sunday at 6 p.m. followed by a play by the youth titled “My Christmas Essay.”
Following the play, there will be a time of fun with snacks in the fellowship hall.
Sunday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. the Adult Choir will present the musical “O Come Let Us Adore Him” directed by Melissa Neeley. She will also sing the solo “The Manger Song.”
Following the service, treat bags will be given to those attending.
There will be no evening service Dec. 24.

Redeemer Lutheran
The Third Sunday in Advent will be celebrated Sunday, Dec. 17, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St.
“Prepare Ye The Way of the Lord” is the sermon theme for the Sunday School worship service at 10:30 a.m. Luther’s Large Catechism Study will be the focus of the 9 a.m. service.
Wednesday, the theme of the study is “Jesus Is Coming, What Do You Do While You Wait?”
The public is invited to all services.

Morgan Branch
The youth of Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church will present the play “Homecoming Express” Sunday at 7 p.m. and again Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m.

Upper Gap Creek
The Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church will present “Once Upon A Silent Night” Sunday at 6 p.m. Following the presentation, there will be refreshments in the fellowship hall.

Week three of Advent will be observed Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The candle of joy will be lit.
The Sunday ceremony will be delivered by Pastor Dr. Bryan Wyatt.
The worship service begins at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour for all ages will be at 10 a.m.
Opportunities for the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group Thursday at 10:30 a.m.; and yoga Friday at 10 a.m.
