Benneth Milton Whitehead

Benneth Milton Whitehead, 83, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert and Madge Wright Whitehead.
Mr. Whitehead was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He loved to work in his garden and go hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Whitehead, and two brothers-in-law, Jim Hicks and Clyde Buckles.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frankie Russell Whitehead; two daughters, Helen Wagenseller and husband Ronald, and Cindy Scalf and husband Shannon; one son, James Whitehead and wife Joy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Carmon Whitehead and wife Louise; and two sisters, Estella Hicks and Wanda Buckles. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Benneth Milton Whitehead will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. James Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Collins, Bryant Collins, Matthew Whitehead, Ray Whitehead, Caleb Ray and David Whitehead. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
