Roy Edward Hyder

Roy Edward Hyder, 59, of Bluff City, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah, Ga. He was born August 26, 1958 in Detroit, Mich., to the late Charles H. and Mary Alice Gauf Hyder.
Roy was a 1976 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He served in the United States Air Force. He was a construction worker and a member of Grace Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
Survivors include a daughter, Beth Marie Ward, Catawba, N.C.; his step-mother, Zetta Hyder, Bluff City; a brother, Charles “Chuck” Hyder and wife Elberta, Bluff City; and a sister, Sara Blair, Woodriver, Ill.
Funeral services for Roy Edward Hyder will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Patrick Kelly officiating. Music will be provided by Chuck Odom, soloist. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Peters, James Hicks, Erby Jones, Dale Colbaugh, Randy Lyons, Bill Hyder, Gary Hyder and Charles Hyder.
