Wayne Russell Lacy Sr.

Wayne Russell Lacy Sr., 73, of Roan Mountain, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
Born July 1, 1944 at Fort Riley, Kansas, he was a son of the late Harlan Wayne Lacy and Billie Jean Freitag Ford. He had lived most of his life in Carter County.
Wayne served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired millwright and truck driver.
Wayne was an avid fan of the Cloudland Highlanders who enjoyed watching his grandchildren play. He was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Judy Sue Johnson Lacy; a son, Wayne Lacy Jr.; and a granddaughter, Chelsea LeAnn Lacy.
Survivors include his children, April Dawn Lacy, and twin boys, Darren Lacy and wife Lesa and Darrell Lacy and wife Lisa; his grandchildren, twin boys, Anthony and Braden, Triston, Jacob, Oliva, Jessica and Michael; his great-grandchildren, Madelyn Grace, Na’Tayla and Logan Wayne; a sister, Sally Kennedy; a brother, Larry Lacy; and his special friends, JoJo Sluder, Jenna Lynn Eaton, fiancée of Braden, Mike Blevins and Speedy Sluder.
The graveside service for Wayne Russell Lacy Sr. will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 2, in the Wayne Lacy Jr. Cemetery with the Rev. Derrick Hughes and the Rev. Stevie Guinn officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ray Loveless, Stuart Ingram, Randy Whitehead Jr., Scottie Whitehead, Junior Whitehead, Shannon Whitehead, Adam Johnson, Triston, Braden and Anthony Lacy and Jacob and Jamie Townson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Friday.
