Thelma Ann Letterman Grindstaff, 70, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Unicoi County, she was a daughter of the late George and Beeda Phillips Letterman. She had lived in Elizabethton for several years.
Thelma had worked at several restaurants in the area. She was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tex Grindstaff; a daughter, Deana Hawkins; and a brother, Junior Letterman.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Hawkins, Elizabethton; two sisters, Kathleen Lewis, Farmville, Va., and Sonja Huskins and husband Bob, Erwin; one brother, Lawrence Letterman, St. Petersburg, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Joann Reed.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Doug Hinshaw officiating. Interment followed the service. Pallbearers were selected from family and friends. Family and friends assembled at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Thursday.
