Bethlehem Lutheran
“Live By the Truth” is the sermon theme for Sunday morning worship March 11 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City. The scripture text is John 3: 14-21.
Morning worship is at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
Lenten Vespers will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The sermon theme is “Return to the Lord Who Does Not Change” based on Malachi 3: 6-12.
Bethlehem Lutheran is located at 201 E. Watauga Ave. The pastor is the Rev. Steven Harmon.

Willow Springs
Sacred Harmony will present a program of gospel music Sunday at 6 p.m. at the Willow Springs Baptist Church.
The group is composed of Janet Weaver of Elizabethton and Brian Scott and Theresa Bellamy of Johnson City. In 2017, Sacred Harmony was honored to take home the “Sunrise Trio of the Year” award at the SGN Scoops Diamond Awards. They were also nominated in the Top 5 for Video of the Year. They have led worship in large contemporary cathedrals and at small country churches and have been invited to sing with artists such as Larry Gatlin and TG Sheppard.
Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m. and morning worship is at 11 a.m.
The church is located at 544 Willow Springs Road.
The public is invited to attend.
Dr. Kenneth Jordan is serving the church as pastor.
Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have its bi-monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.
Also, an All You Can Eat Fish Fry will be held Friday, March 16, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All proceeds will go to Phase II of the building project.
Big A Club will begin Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. The classes will consist of Bible lessons, crafts, missions, and snacks for children in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Transportation will be available if needed.

St. Paul U-M
Men’s Day will be celebrated Sunday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 924 Johnson Ave.
The theme of the celebration is “Who’s the Greatest” and will feature music by Fred Goodwin, Tony Rominger, and Loretta Bowers.
Speaking will be the Rev. Ray Amos, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton.
The service will be at 3 p.m. and all are invited.
Fairview U-M
Squire Parsons will be featured in a community concert Saturday, March 17, at 6 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church, 878 Highway 81 North, Jonesborough.
The event is hosted by the FUMC Men.
Also, a Country Breakfast to benefit the youth program will be held March 17 from 7 to 10 a.m. at the church. Featured will be bacon, fresh ground sausage, tenderloin, eggs, pancakes, gravy, biscuits, cinnamon apples and more. The cost is a donation.

Sacred Journey concerts
The Sacred Journey Quartet, a Southern gospel music group from Johnson City, will be at East Side Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service.
Sunday evening, the group will sing at First Free Will Baptist Church, 706 First St.
The Rev. Justin Deaton is pastor at East Side Free Will and the Rev. Nathan Jennings is pastor at First Free Will Baptist.
The public is invited to attend both programs of gospel music.
First Christian
Minister Michael Klaus will preach Sunday at the morning worship service at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. The service begins at 9:45 a.m.
The communion meditation will be given by the choir, and scripture will be read by Drew Pearson. Emily Dunlap and Sophia Estep will have special music.
Bible school will be at 11 a.m.
The evening service is at 6 p.m.
The Ladies Bible Study group will meet Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Fidelis classroom.
The Tuesday morning prayer group will meet Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary with Minister John Smith.
Wednesday evening prayer service and Bible study will be at 6 p.m. with classes for all ages. The visitation team will go out at 6 p.m. Following the evening service, choir practice will be held.

Lynn Valley
A Youth Weekend will be held Saturday and Sunday at Lynn Valley Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. worship hour.
The guest speaker for both services will be former NBA player Anthony Bonner. Bonner played for the Sacramento Kings and the Orlando Magic. He now is associated with Crossfire Ministries, a sports evangelistic ministry based out of Asheville, N.C. Bonner is a dynamic speaker with a powerful testimony.
Terry Wood, former Elizabethton resident and current worship leader at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Easley, S.C., will present special music at both services.

Poplar Grove
Mike Presnell will present special music Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
The church is located on Highway 91, Stoney Creek. The Rev. Eric Wright is pastor and invites the public to attend.
New Liberty
A spaghetti dinner will be held Sunday at New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church following the morning worship service. The dinner will be from noon until 2 p.m. Carryouts will also be available. The price is a donation.
New Liberty is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

Phillippi Baptist
Old Fashioned Day will be observed Sunday at Phillippi Missionary Baptist Church.
Sunday School is at 10 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. after which an old-fashioned meal will be served.
The afternoon service will begin at 3 p.m. and will feature Patricia Stover as guest speaker. Also featured will be the Shiloh Baptist Choir from Kingsport. The service is sponsored by the Anna Breedlove Circle of which Elizabeth Crawford is president.

First Presbyterian
Dr. Bryan Wyatt, pastor, will preach Sunday at morning worship at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The service is at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour will be held at 10 a.m.
Dr. Wyatt will use as his sermon text I Cor. 15: 3-11.
First Presbyterian will host a St. Paddy’s Day Inn event Friday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu will include Irish beef stew, cornbread, dessert and drink. Meals can be eat in, delivered to your work, and drive through and pick up.
The cost is $7, and profits will benefit the The Shepherd’s Inn Safe House/Emergency Shelter for Women and Children for Carter County and Elizabethton. Meals can be reserved by calling 542-0180.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday; and yoga Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
