Borderview Christian
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will host a Good Friday service March 30 at 7 p.m., at which time the musical, “The Day He Wore My Crown” by Russell Mauldin will be presented by the Adult Choir Ministry.
The service will utilize videos, congregational singing and responsive readings to emphasize the story of the cross.
The children of the community are invited to attend an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 31, from noon to 1:30 p.m. There will be a hot dog lunch, egg toss, face painting, and various other games.
On Easter Sunday, April 1, the service at 10:45 a.m. will feature the musical by the 25-voice Borderview choir with both lighting and video enhancements. Soloists for the musical are Kathy West and Ray Don Markland.
Scott Fisher is the senior minister and Matt Fisher is the youth minister.

Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church, 1765 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will have a movie night Wednesday, March 28, at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
“Risen” will be shown and there will be free fresh popcorn and drinks.
The congregation will also have a community-wide Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 30.

Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will present “No Greater Love,” an Easter drama, Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25. Both services will begin at 6 p.m.

Poplar Grove
Poplar Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Easter with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday, April 1, followed by a fellowship breakfast.
Pastor Eric Wright will present the sunrise service message and Ben Cole will preach at the 10 a.m. worship service Easter Sunday.

First United Methodist
Palm Sunday will be celebrated Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, March 25.
The Rev. Raymond W. Amos, Sr. will present the message “A Ragtime and Glorious Parade,” based on Mark 11: 1-11. The worship service begins at 9:55 a.m.
Sunday School begins at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and the Senior High group will meet from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Both will meet in the 4:12 Ministries House. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Thursday, March 29, a special Maundy Thursday service will be held at 6 p.m.
On Good Friday from noon until 1 p.m. David Arney will present “Reflections of the Cross,” a time of meditation and reflection featuring organ music. The program will also feature Deborah Knapp, narrator and soloist.
The public is invited to all services.

Maranatha Tabernacle
Maranatha Tabernacle, Unicoi, will present its annual Easter Opry Saturday, March 24, and Sunday, March 25. Both services will begin at 6 p.m.
The pastor, the Rev. E.L. Wheeler, invites the public to attend.

Caldwell Springs
The WMU of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church will have a homemade baked goods sale Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
Proceeds from the sale will benefit the youth mission trip to Houston, Texas, to aid in hurricane relief efforts.
The church is located at 1509 Blue Springs Road.

First Christian
A special Palm Sunday presentation will open the worship service Sunday morning at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. David Hutton will be the worship leader and the communion meditation will be given by Virginia Laws.
Scripture will be read by Steve Pearson and special music will be by Cara Hutton.
Minister Michael Klaus will continue his series of sermons on the subject “ONE.”
The service will begin at 9:45 a.m. followed by Bible School classes at 11 a.m.
Minister Klaus will speak at the 6 p.m. service. The evening song leader will be Leslie Brockley.
The Ladies Bible Study Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday in the Fidelis Classroom. The Bible study is led by Paula Manning and Ashleigh McCloud.
The Tuesday morning prayer service will be at 10 a.m. and will be led by John Smith.
The Wednesday Bible study and prayer service is at 6 p.m. Choir practice will follow.

Bethlehem Lutheran
Palm Sunday will be celebrated Sunday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City, at morning worship services. Services will begin at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
The sermon theme is “See Your King” based on Zech. 9: 9-12.
Communion will be served at both services.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
Maundy Thursday will be celebrated March 29 with a special service at 7 p.m. The sermon theme is “The Lord Returns to Jerusalem With Mercy” based on Mark 14: 12-26.
A Good Friday service will be held at 7 p.m. The sermon theme is “The Word of the Lord Returns to Him With Success” based on Isa. 55: 6-11.
Bethlehem Lutheran is located at 201 E. Watauga Ave. The pastor is the Rev. Steven Harmon.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have a Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m. in the church fellowship hall.
All proceeds go to the church building fund.

St. Thomas
St. Thomas Episcopal Church will observe Palm Sunday with a procession to the Covered Bridge Park at 10 a.m.
Holy Eucharist and the Lord’s Supper will follow at 11 a.m.

Redeemer Lutheran
The Redeemer Lutheran Church, 234 W. F St., will observe Palm Sunday March 25 with Bible study at 9 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday at 7 p.m., there will be a special Maundy Thursday service with the Lord’s Supper observed.
Friday at 7 p.m., a special Good Friday service will be held.
Deacon Tim Carter invites the public to attend.

St. John Free Will
An Easter program will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain.
Featured will be an egg hunt, snacks, and fellowship.

First Presbyterian
Pastor Dr. Bryan Wyatt will present the sermon at Sunday morning worship at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The sermon theme is “Clash of Kingdoms,” based on Mark 11: 1-11.
Morning worship is at 11 a.m. An Education Hour is at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group Thursday from 10:20 a.m. to noon. The group is presently reading “The Last Week” by Marcus J. Borg and John Dominic Crossan.
Yoga will be Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Willow Springs
The Adult Choir of Willow Springs Baptist Church will present the cantata “Redeemed How I Love To Proclaim It” at the 11 a.m. service on Easter Sunday at the church.
There will be no evening service.
