Diamond Round-up: Sullivan South slams past Happy Valley, 12-2; Lady Cyclone drop contest in Myrtle Beach

The Sullivan South Rebels were able to get things done in five innings Friday.
At Cannon-Gouge Park, the Rebels topped Happy Valley, 12-2, in five innings for a Three Rivers Conference victory.
The Warriors two runs came in the bottom of the first as Happy Valley’s Jacob Absher came home on a walk while teammate Bart Wilson had an RBI-single.
On the mound, Happy Valley’s Nolan Easlic worked four innings for the Warriors as he stuck out six batters against three walks. Easlic finished with eight runs and six hits against him.
At the plate, Absher and Wilson each had a hit.
The Warriors will travel to South today to finish the series.
Softball
Grove City (Ohio) 10, Elizabethton 1
The Lady Cyclones dropped their first game of the Grand Strand Classic at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Grove City topped the Lady Cyclones, 10-0, in five innings.
Elizabethton’s only run came in the fourth when Lady Cyclones Kira Dillard scored off a sac fly from teammate Hannah Edwards.
