Lorene W. Reynolds

Lorene W. Reynolds, 90, of Elizabethton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Lorene was born August 31, 1927 to the late Samuel I. Wiggins and Iva Mae Geoghegan Wiggins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Henry Reynolds Sr., on April 7, 2008; three brothers, Eugene, Martin and Leroy Wiggins; and one sister, Ruby McDole.
Lorene was born in Paris, Ky., but had lived in Elizabethton since 1982. She had worked as a sales clerk at the Religious Book Store in Elizabethton and had also worked at TG&Y in Elizabethton. Lorene attended Borderview Christian Church and loved her role as a preacher’s wife. She enjoyed sewing, reading and especially enjoyed being with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Bonnie Field and husband Fred of San Antonio, Texas, and Rebekah Hewes and husband Rick of Colorado Springs, Colo.; her sons, Tom Reynolds and wife Terri of Johnson City, David Reynolds and wife Cherie of Fresno, Calif., Tim Reynolds and wife Lisa of Elizabethton, and John Reynolds and wife Teri Ann of Johnson City; one sister, Opal Foreman of Welsh, La.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Mrs. Reynolds will be conducted from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. A service to honor and celebrate the life of Lorene W. Reynolds will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at Borderview Christian Church of Elizabethton with Mr. John Smith, Mr. Clay Bailey and Mr. Scott Fisher, ministers, officiating. Music will be provided by her son, David Reynolds, her granddaughter, Julie Peters, and Scott Reynolds, organist. The graveside service will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery in Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be her sons and Robert Robbins, Steve Burrough Jr., Josh Reynolds, Bryan Miller, Garrett Reynolds and Matthew Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernest “Fuzz” Oliver, Rick Hewes, Steve Burrough, Lynn Holdren, Steve Replogle, Carl Burrough and Jim Holdren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hillview Health Center and Amedysis Home Health Care for the love and care shown to Lorene during her illness.
