Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will present the Easter drama “The Messiah’s Passion” Saturday at 7 p.m.
An Easter sunrise service will be held Sunday at 7 a.m. followed by a community breakfast.
There will be no evening service Sunday.
Everyone is invited to attend by the congregation and the church pastor, the Rev. Stephen Greene.
Unaka Baptist is located at 1598 Highway 91.
First Presbyterian
Easter services at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will begin Sunday at 9:45 a.m. with an Education Hour.
Morning worship is at 11 a.m. with the message by the pastor, Dr. Brian Wyatt.
Other opportunities of the week include Meditation Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group, Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The group is currently reading “The Last Week” by Marcus J. Borg and John Dominic Crossan.
Yoga is every Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
First Presbyterian is located at 119 W. F St.
Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church, 1765 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will have a community-wide Good Friday service this evening at 7 p.m.

Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will host a spring fling Saturday from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Activities will include inflatables, an Easter Egg Roll and other games, crafts for kids, and hotdogs.

Upper Gap Creek
The Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 1380 Dry Creek Road, will present a program of Scripture and Song on the Crucifixion, Burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service.

Poplar Grove
Poplar Grove Baptist Church will celebrate Easter with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. Sunday followed by a fellowship breakfast.
Pastor Eric Wright will present the Easter sunrise message and Ben Cole will preach at the 10 a.m. service.

Caldwell Springs
The WMU of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church will have a bake sale of homemade goods Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the youth mission trip to Houston, Tx., to aid in hurricane relief.
The church is located at 1509 Blue Springs Road.
Borderview
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will host a Good Friday service this evening at 7 o’clock at which time the musical “The Day He Wore My Crown” will be presented by the Adult Choir.
The service will also feature videos, congregational singing and responsive readings.
The children of the community are invited to attend an Easter Egg Hunt Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. There will be a hotdog lunch, egg toss, face painting, and much more.
Easter Sunday, services at 10:45 a.m. will feature the musical by the 25-voice Borderview choir with both singing and video enhancements. Featured soloists are Kathy West and Ray Don Markland.
Scott Fisher is the senior minister and Matt Fisher is the youth minister.

First United Methodist
First United Methodist Church, 325 E. E St., will celebrate the Resurrection of Christ, Our Lord, Sunday. The pastor, the Rev. Raymond W. Amos Sr., will present the message “Why Are We Weeping?” based on John 20: 1-18.
The worship service will begin at 9:55 a.m. Sunday School begins at 11:20 a.m.
The Junior High 4:12 Student Ministries meets Sundays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House and the Senior High Ministries from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m.
The Coolagers meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Wednesday evening Bible study is at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.

Valley Forge Free Will
An Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday in the sanctuary with breakfast to follow at the fellowship hall.
At 10:45 a.m., the Children’s and Praise Choirs will sing, and Pastor Randy Johnson will preach.
There will be no evening service Sunday.
Pinecrest Baptist
Pinecrest Baptist Church, 2129 Old Lewis Road, Johnson City, will have an Easter Sunrise Service Sunday at 6:45 a.m.

An Easter Sunrise Service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at St. John Free Will Baptist Church, Roan Mountain.

Sims Hill Christian
Sims Hill Christian Church will celebrate Easter with a sunrise service Sunday at 6:30 a.m. at the church fellowship hall outside, weather permitting. Breakfast will follow.
There will be no Sunday School with the worship service to begin at 10:30 a.m. The choir, directed by Melissa Neeley, will present the musical “There Is A Redeemer” by Craig Adams.

First Free Will
A Sunrise Service will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday at First Free Will Baptist Church, with breakfast to follow in the Christian Life Center at 7:30 a.m.
Morning worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. with the pastor, the Rev. Nathan Jennings, preaching. The children’s ministry will also present a special program.
There will be no evening service Sunday.
Bethlehem Lutheran
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Johnson City, will have a SONrise service Sunday at 7 a.m. at the Upper Mausoleum at Happy Valley Memorial Park. The sunrise service at the cemetery has been a tradition for a number of years.
Following the service, an Easter breakfast will be held in the church fellowship hall at 9 a.m. The church is located at 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City.
A special Good Friday service will be held this evening at 7 o’clock at the church and an Easter Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church.
Sunday, worship services will be held at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Communion will be served at both services.
The Rev. Steven Harmon, pastor, and the congregation invite the public to attend all services.
Willow Springs
The Adult Choir of Willow Springs Baptist Church will present the cantata “Redeemed How I Love To Proclaim It” at the 11 a.m. worship service Easter Sunday. The choir is directed by Bobby Smith.

Phillippi Baptist
Phillippi Baptist Church will host a community sunrise breakfast Easter Sunday at 7 a.m. Joining the congregation will be the congregations of St. Paul United Methodist and Brown’s Chapel Churches. Breakfast will be served by the Men of Phillippi.
A special Easter program will be presented at the 11 a.m. service at the church.
